THE ASSIGNMENT OF LABOR
Fine Points: It is up to the estimator or sales representative to suggest the amount of men needed to properly and safely handle your move.

Their suggestion is based not only on the amount of items to be moved, but the access conditions at both the origin and destination residences.

Less manpower does not mean a cheaper move. In fact it could be more expensive since the process can be slowed down.

The idea in assigning manpower is to make your move as efficient as possible. Please remember that men are not machines and can become fatigued if the length of the move is too long.

During the physical move, one man will remain on the truck for the packing of your possessions from the origin residence and the unloading at the destination residence. Therefore it’s the remainder of the crew who will be responsible for the padding or blanket wrapping of the furniture, its’ removal and staging to be loaded onto the waiting moving van.

Because of the access conditions at both residences where one residence will take longer time to physically handle your possessions, it is not uncommon that more manpower be assigned to the one residence than both residences.
  Pitfalls -
What you
should look
out for:
During the physical move, the crew will take either a lunch, dinner break or both, each normally lasting one half of an hour. If one or both or more are taken, the time should be deducted from your final bill and noted on the bill of lading.
